Spring Gathering

Our first gathering will be held in the Spring - where we will come together around the element of Water. â€‹â€‹We will meditate on Water, we will make offerings and prayers to water, we will then make our ceremony a collective prayer to healing the waters of the planet, as well as the soil, air, fire and collective liberation of all beings.

The foundation of our retreats are built on ideas of Joanna Macy, we look at her principles of the three different stories that exist about our world. The first is "Business as Usual", the second is the "Great Unravelling" and the third is the "Great Turning". We enquire as to where we are within those stories, and where we want to be, and how we exist within a narrative that must combine all three. We will also work on how we can use this gathering and this community to move out of spaces of great despair and into spaces of Active Hope.

Our gatherings begin with a group call 2 weeks before the gather starts to meet one another and begin to form our web of connection and to form our prayer together. Once the gathering is complete we will have 2 integration calls to in the weeks following the gathering to complete our process. We have additional 1-1 integration calls available with our amazing integration therapist upon request.

Who is Joanna Macy and what is The Work that Reconnects?

Joanna Macy, a pioneering ecophilosopher and Buddhist scholar, has spent her life exploring the deep connections between spiritual awakening and ecological healing. Her work, The Work That Reconnects, invites us to see ourselves as part of a vast, living web—one that binds us to each other, to nature, and to all that has been and will be. This framework is rooted in her belief that humanity’s current crises are as much spiritual as they are environmental; our suffering stems from a disconnection, a loss of kinship with the Earth and with each other.

Through a sequence of transformative practices, The Work That Reconnects guides us to reawaken this kinship. It begins in Gratitude, honoring what we love and what sustains us, creating a foundation of appreciation. From there, it moves into Honoring Our Pain for the World, a step that allows us to express the grief, anger, and fear we feel for the suffering Earth, which, rather than weakening us, deepens our compassion and courage. Next, we See with New Eyes as we recognize our shared interdependence, glimpsing the world through the wisdom of deep ecology. Finally, we are called to Go Forth, emboldened to bring this new vision into action, knowing that even small efforts can ripple out, creating meaningful change.

At the heart of Macy’s work is Active Hope, a call to confront our challenges not with passive optimism, but with a fierce, engaged love for the world. In community and through ritual, The Work That Reconnects helps us find resilience in connection, courage in vulnerability, and purpose in our shared journey.

Through this work, Joanna Macy invites us to become guardians of the Earth and our collective future, transforming despair into hope, and isolation into kinship.
