Juani Naum

Juani is joning us for Chapter 5 - "Ceremony as Structure for Spiritual Safety"

Juani will teach why ceremony creates the structures we need to practice energetic and psychological safety.

Juani has been walking the path of plant medicine for over 23 years. His journey began within a spiritual tradition in Brazil, where he was first introduced to the depth and discipline of ceremonial work. During his early travels, he encountered his first teacher in the lineage of Peruvian vegetalismo—a relationship that shaped his foundation in plant spirit healing and that he nurtured through years of dedicated apprenticeship.

Since then, Juani has traveled extensively through Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and the United States, studying and working alongside Indigenous and mestizo healers. His approach to ceremony has been forged through decades of lived experience, service, and study across multiple traditions, resulting in a unique, integrative style that honors the deep structure of the medicines and the wisdom they carry.

Central to Juani’s work is a commitment to spiritual safety and integrity in ceremonial space. He personally gathers and prepares the plants he serves, carrying an intimate knowledge of the remedies and the relational protocols that surround them. His facilitation is rooted in the principles of reciprocity, respect, and protection—ensuring that each ceremony becomes a container where transformation can occur with care and clarity.

While his primary path is grounded in traditional Amazonian medicine, Juani draws from a wide field of teachings—from South and North American Indigenous traditions to Eastern and Western modalities. He is a lifelong student of the seen and unseen, continually consulting with jungle elders, Northern wisdom keepers, psychologists, doctors, and other healers to deepen and refine his practice.

Juani believes ceremony is not an isolated event but a living structure—one that teaches us how to move through life with awareness, self-responsibility, and reverence. He is here to guide participants in understanding the architecture of ceremony as a safe and sacred container, offering tools to navigate expanded states of consciousness and integrate them meaningfully into daily life.
